St.Mary’s s Church, Gunadala

The Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary is the second largest Christian shrine in South India. The shrine is famous for having a statue of Our Lady in a natural cave in the suburbs of Vijayawada, similar to the Church of Our Lady in a natural cave in the city of Lourdes in France. Large numbers of devotees flock here on Christmas, January First, Good Friday and Easter. Mostly the people are crowded on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The festival is held here on the 9th, 10th and 11th of February every year. About 13 to 15 lakh devotees from across the country attend these festivals.
